I found your next favorite Columbus date night spo I found your next favorite Columbus date night spot and it’s @lanirooftop in Powell. It’s elevated but still laid back and the perfect spot whether you’re looking for somewhere that feels little more special than your usual dinner out or a place where you can relax and enjoy yourselves for the evening. Think rooftop views, cocktails that are actually worth ordering, plenty of shareable bites and there’s not a bad seat in the house. The patio is great if you want sunset views and there’s plenty of seating indoors - we sat at the bar and this is the spot if you want a more lively atmosphere (the bartenders are fantastic). Order the harissa roasted cauliflower and the Lani Caesar salad. Definitely my favorites on the menu. Save this for your next night out! 📍 50 E Olentangy St 3rd Floor, Powell, OH
An easy dinner idea that tastes like we got takeou An easy dinner idea that tastes like we got takeout but that’s easier on our budget and my time? Sold. These @seacuisine Skillet Meals from Meijer were such an easy weeknight win. I made the Chili Garlic Shrimp and had a restaurant-style dinner on the table in 15 minutes. Perfect for all the busy sports nights we have coming up.Minimal effort, SO much flavor, and my shrimp-loving kid was very happy about it.Adding these to the “what are we having for dinner?” emergency rotation. Stop by your local Meijer to try them out!#sponsored #SeaCuisine #SeaCuisineSkillets #EasyDinner @meijerstores
If your family loves graphic novels, here’s anot If your family loves graphic novels, here’s another good one you should check out! #PenguinKidsPartner Mexikid is a graphic memoir by @PedroMartinbooks about a Mexican American boy learning about his family’s past and connecting with his larger-than-life Abuelito through laughter and heartfelt family moments. You know how much I value cultural representation in the books my kids read and this definitely one you should add to your shelves. The story is so good and the graphics kept my whole family engaged. Perfect for kids 10-14 (my almost 10 year old devoured this book so fast), but my 6 year old loved it too. Now’s the perfect time to read this book, because the companion graphic memoir Mexikid Dreams comes out on 9/1! @PenguinKids @Mexikidstories #Mexikid #MexikidDreams #AD

I always wanted a sister, so getting to see their I always wanted a sister, so getting to see their friendship grow through everyday moments like pretend coffee dates and imaginative play means more than I can put into words. #sponsored The new @officiallittletikes Sweet Spaces collection from @Target is the absolute cutest. It’s the perfect modern, retro-inspired style with all the nostalgia from the Little Tikes toys I remember playing with as a kid. And definitely don’t overlook the extra features like an actual working faucet in the sink, the steam from the espresso maker and the color-changing cupcakes in the mini oven. One of my favorite things to do in New York City a One of my favorite things to do in New York City and it only costs $6! But seriously, the @theseaglasscarousel in Battery Park is a downtown Manhattan staple and one that not everyone knows about. Definitely add this to your NYC itinerary.
Have you heard about the rooftop lounge in Powell Have you heard about the rooftop lounge in Powell everyone keeps talking about? We had date night at the new @lanirooftop the other night (our second time there) and it did not disappoint. My only regret is that we didn’t also order the Caesar salad because it’s my favorite, but we absolutely did not have room to order anything else. The Harissa Roast Cauliflower was our favorite this time, but there was not a bad bite to be found. And if you’re looking for a NA beverage, they have a great list of refreshers or you can ask the bartender to make you something off menu. Speaking of the bartenders, they’re fantastic and I highly recommend sitting at the bar if you want a different vibe or it’s not patio weather outside. Save this one for your next Columbus night out! @visitdelohio @visit_powell @experiencecolumbus #columbusohio #cbusfoodscene #cbusfoodbloggers #lanirooftop #delawareohio

Finally got around to checking out @hulihulidownto Finally got around to checking out @hulihulidowntown’s new location in Columbus. It’s much smaller than their Powell location, but the same vibes and great food and drinks are there. Also there’s free parking after 5:30!I ordered the Aloha Aina and their tiki fries (the tiki fries are a must order every time)#columbus #columbusrestaurants #cbusfoodscene #cbusfoodbloggers #columbusohio @experiencecolumbus

Columbus Gift Guide | Live Local

November 11, 2017      local      8 Comments

This blog post may contain affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.

I try to shop with small businesses as much as I can and whenever I’m able, I opt for buying local. What better way to support local businesses and makers than around the holidays?! It’s always fun to be able to gift a little bit of Cbus to those you love. I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite local artists and businesses in Columbus to help you as you do your holiday shopping. I also recently attended the Ohio Creative Collective Handmade Holiday Gift Guide Release Party at Bleu & Fig. I was already working on this Columbus gift guide, but the event helped me round out my list.

Check out all the shops below – there’s a little something for everyone, maybe even including yourself. Have a favorite Columbus business that didn’t make the list? Feel free to mention them in the comment section at the bottom of the post!
