I love a good opportunity to recreate an old image I love a good opportunity to recreate an old image and the space under the Fireworks of Glass Chihuly sculpture at @childrensmuseum might be my favorite spot. Stop down there in the afternoon after the crowds have thinned out and it’s the perfect spot to take a break, enjoy the view and capture a memory from your day.1st image is from our recent trip to @visitindy with kids 2-4. 2nd image is from April 2017 with our oldest.

We kicked off our summer break with a weekend in I We kicked off our summer break with a weekend in Indianapolis and it was so much fun that we’re already talking about our next trip there! Thanks to @thecitymoms and @visitindy for hosting us! We stayed at the incredible @thealexanderindy, which is the most amazing modern luxury hotel in downtown Indy. Walkable to so many restaurants and activities, plus the hotel is full of art pieces. The moms were pampered at @drybarshopsindy. This was my first time getting a blow out and now I totally understand what the obsession is all about. Dinner and live jazz music at @geraldines_indy - this is a Fountain Square neighborhood gem known for their incredible steaks. And yes, we took our kids. The upstairs is great for families and the food was phenomenal. Grabbed ice cream at @indyhowdy. Their Dr. Pepper chocolate chip ice cream is definitely the way to go. Had coffee from @calvinfletcherscoffeeco (their house made chocolate sauce used in their CF mocha is SO good)Spent most of Saturday at @childrensmuseum. This is the largest children’s museum in the world and has 5 floors of interactive exhibits plus their 7.5 acre outdoor Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience. Dined on the patio at @livery.restaurant. If you’re looking for a good mocktail, I loved their chili lime mango-nada. Caught an @indyindians game and cheered them on to an epic win. @milb are always so much fun. Brunch at @cafepatachou. Get the croissant French toast, just trust me. And the pistachio latte. Also checked out @imsmuseum before heading home. It’s at the center of the race track, which is so cool, and they had a TON of interactive activities for the kids. Indianapolis is only a few hours drive from Columbus, which makes it the perfect place for a weekend getaway! #indianapolis #visitindy #indianapolisindiana #midwesttravel #midwesttravelbloggers
Getting a season pass to @greatwolflodge is one of Getting a season pass to @greatwolflodge is one of the best decisions we’ve made all summer. Stay for the whole day or just pop in for a few hours - this is such a great way to have some fun on a free day between all our other summer activities.Season passes are sold per resort, so choose the one most convenient for your family. Cost also varies depending on location, but for Mason, OH, it’s $110/person for a weekday pass (with some holiday blackout dates) and $350/person for an anytime season pass. Personally, I feel like the weekday pass is the best deal, but since standard day passes are generally $50/person/day, the season pass really pays for itself with a few visits either way. Also, you won’t want to miss all their Summer Camp-In activities and trying their Hot Dot Days of Summer menu! GWL season passes are valid for any U.S. lodge through August 31.#GWLParentPack #GWLSeasonPass #greatwolflodge #columbusohio #greatwolflodgemasonohio

Reasons why you should try this mini muffin recipe Reasons why you should try this mini muffin recipe? Pre-packaged mini muffins are expensive. These are not. You probably have all the ingredients in your pantry. It’s a great way to use up leftover fruit. They freeze well, so they’re great for meal prepping (although they probably won’t last that long) Also, mini versions are always better. Easy mini muffin recipe: 2 c all purpose flour1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 c granulated sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 c unsalted butter, melted and cooled 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla extract or paste 3/4 c plain greek yogurt or sour cream 1 c fruit (blueberries, diced strawberries, chopped cherries, etc)1 tsp lemon zest (optional) Other versions: swap vanilla extract for almond extract and use cherries, chocolate chips instead of fruit, diced apples and tsp cinnamon Grease mini muffin tin and preheat oven to 375. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and lemon zest (if using) In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter with both sugars, then add the eggs and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Add half the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Then gently stir in the Greek yogurt. Fold in the remaining flour mixture, being careful not to overmix. Fold in the fruit. Fill each muffin tin about 2/3 of the way. Bake 12-14 minutes or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean and the muffins are lightly browned. Let cool before removing from pan. *mini muffin tin was gifted to me by @gourmetifics and part of a whole ceramic baking set

The truth? I think sometimes between growing up an The truth? I think sometimes between growing up and all the responsibilities that come with it, we forget that life is meant to be enjoyed, not just managed. (Hosted) This girls’ trip to @cedarpoint with @shoresandislands reminded me of that. We spent the day laughing until our faces hurt, riding the rides that made us scream with delight, and spent hours experiencing the joy of simply being carefree. You’re never too old to make core memories. And as much as I loved this experience with friends, I can’t wait to come back one day with my family and watch them create memories of their own. Because no matter how old we get, there’s always room for new memories and new adventures. But I also may need to call my chiropractor after that roller coaster. #lakeerielove #shoresandislands #cedarpoint #amusementpark

GoumiAlls Review | Baby Essentials

I feel like Liam did a lot of living in pajamas as a baby. He was born in the fall, so it was just easier going from house to car to wherever. I didn’t think we’d use them much for Caleb, being a spring baby and all. Goodness, was I wrong. While it’s true that he doesn’t wear them out of the house much, he does wear them inside more than I anticipated. I don’t always put him in a sleep sack or swaddle when he sleeps. But since the air conditioning keeps our house pretty cool, I want him to stay nice and cozy. Especially for sleeping times. I received a couple of GoumiAlls for free from GoumiKids to try out and goodness, these things are a hit around here.

If you remember, I reviewed the baby mitts from GoumiKids last month. Well, the GoumiAlls have the same GoumiMitt features built in. While you can leave your baby’s hands out (which I sometimes do), you can also fold over the mitts to protect his face from scratches. The high contrast black and white pattern on the flipped side is supposed to stimulate brain and eye development. Caleb likes to suck on his hands quite a bit (I think he’s teething), and I think he likes the added texture of the pattern too.
goumialls-review-19

The GoumiAlls are made out of a 70% bamboo and 30% organic cotton blend. This fabric is so buttery soft. I also generally find that clothes made with this type of blend are really gentle on sensitive skin. Not to mention that it’s naturally antimicrobial and breathable to help keep baby from overheating. They’re also more my style than, say….Paw Patrol (insert sad face because my toddler is now very opinionated on what he wears).
goumialls-review-11

In addition to the mitt feature for the hands, there’s a similar option by the feet. You can leave them unfolded to keep your baby cooler, or fold them over their feet for a footed pajama look. We like to sleep with the fan on in our bedroom, so I usually keep Caleb’s flipped for a little extra warmth. In the larger sizes of GoumiAlls, you can actually get a gripped pattern on the bottom of the feet. This way, as your baby starts becoming more mobile, you don’t have to worry about them slipping on the floor.
goumialls-review-28

Another thing I love about the GoumiAlls is how easy it is to change diapers. Especially in the middle of the night. In regular pajamas, I always seem to miss a snap and have to try all over again. But with the GoumiAlls, there are only three snaps on the back of the ‘Alls. They call this an “integrated bum flap”. So all you have to do is unsnap the flap in the back, pull the baby’s feet out of the GoumiAlls to change his diaper and then put the ‘Alls back on. Heck, I don’t even snap all three snaps when I’m done. I usually just do one or two, because at 3 a.m., that’s good enough for me.

I do find that it’s taken me a little while to get used to changing Caleb’s diaper this way. It can be a tight fit trying to get his legs up and out of the bum flap, but the more I do it I’m able to figure it out.
goumialls-review-12

Sizing-wise, I think the GoumiAlls are pretty true-to-size. Caleb is right on the tail end of being done with his 3 month clothes. His 0-3 month GoumiAlls still fit without being too tight around his tummy. Which is super adorable and chubby. He’s about 25 percentile for height and there’s definitely another inch or two of room left in the legs. So even if your child is quite long, my guess is that they will still fit pretty true-to-size. The only thing I’ve noticed is that the bigger he’s gotten, the harder it is to get his legs and knees out through the bum flap for diaper changes. It’s not impossible, but just a little trickier than when he was smaller.
goumialls-review-26

You can purchase GoumiAlls in three different colors/prints right on the GoumiKids website and you can use this (affiliate) link to get 10% off your purchase! They come in three different colors: grey (school of fish), mint (waddle) and pink (waddle). The prints appear only on the mitts or feet, so the rest of the ‘Alls are pretty neutral. All of the GoumiAlls can be purchased in a larger size with extra grip on the soles for mobile babies.

All in all, we’re very happy with our GoumiAlls. If you get a set, stop back by and let me know how you like them!
