The way this show has a hold on me….I saw @hades The way this show has a hold on me….I saw @hadestown on Broadway three years ago and I have been obsessed ever since. A modern retelling of two Greek mythology stories, heavy New Orleans jazz influences and a band that plays on stage and makes you feel like you’re sitting at a bar listening to the house band and hearing Hades tell the story. One of my favorite things about the show is that it leaves room for each actor to bring something unique to their character. It will never be the same show twice and each cast is as amazing as the last. Another benefit to seeing it multiple times is that it gives you the opportunity to notice something new every time.I liked how the national tour adapted the set for smaller stages and to give you the same feel for the story without the turntable and lift. And I was thrilled to see there are swinging lamps too - they’re one of my favorite parts. Hadestown is only at the Ohio Theatre through Sunday and there are a very limited amount of tickets available. This is one you have to see!@capacolumbus @broadwaycolumbus #bwaycbus #ohiotheatre #capacolumbus #hadestowntour #hadestownmusical
Have you checked out @apollocoffeecolumbus yet? Th Have you checked out @apollocoffeecolumbus yet? They have the cutest coffee truck at @oaklandnurseries in New Albany and their drinks are so unique (and delish). Apollo is also opening up a brick and mortar in New Albany later this year. I can’t wait! What we tried: Caramelized banana latte (good, but the banana flavor is subtle)Salted honey latte (SO good)S’mores latte (my fave)Sunday Morning latte (perfect if you love cereal) Bourbon vanilla latte (a great choice if you’re skipping the fancy cold foam)Tip: the cold foam is really thick, so make sure you stir it in really well if you want it more incorporated into your drink Also, seating is limited if you’re planning to stay and enjoy your coffee. But you can always walk and browse all the pretty plants! 📍 5211 Johnstown Rd, New Albany #columbuscoffee #columbusohio #newalbanyohio #oaklandnursery #cbusfoodscene
I think it’s high time we declare a mom’s nigh I think it’s high time we declare a mom’s night off from cooking dinner every week. What do you think? Hannah wanted to surprise me with dinner and these @dumplingdaughter dumplings were such an easy thing for her to make.We eat a lot of dumplings in our house, including homemade ones, and I love that Dumpling Daughter dumplings are family legacy recipes passed down through generations. As someone who’s worked hard trying to preserve my own grandmother’s Chinese recipes, I think it’s incredible that Nadia, the founder, has not only done this but also found a way to share them with the rest of the world. You can feel the love and care in every single bite. And don’t forget about the sauces too!Find Dumpling Daughter in the frozen section of a grocery store near you. #DumplingDaughterPartner #DumplingDaughterMothersDay #FamilyMeals #dinneridea #mealplanning

I’m convinced this is the best screen free activ I’m convinced this is the best screen free activity you could ever do with your family. My kids love watching the birds out at our bird feeder, so we added a second one to the backyard. Bird feeding is an incredible low cost hobby that teaches about birds and nature, how to care for animals, and honestly is bringing so much joy to our day.Check out @projectwildbird to learn more about all the bird feeding basics and where to find your local birding stores. Just a gentle reminder: while big, elaborate gathe Just a gentle reminder: while big, elaborate gatherings, brunches and gifts can be nice on Mother’s Day, it’s also just a day on the calendar. Celebrating on a different day doesn’t take away from honoring you as a mom. Sharing the holiday with a mom or a mother in law or other family doesn’t make it less. If making plans for this weekend is stressing you out, it’s totally okay to do something lowkey instead. And if we’re really being honest here, moms deserve to be honored and celebrated more than just one day of the year. The “just because” flowers are always way more special than any big Mother’s Day bouquet IMO.

Might be my favorite Hocking Hills hike we’ve do Might be my favorite Hocking Hills hike we’ve done yet. Cantwell Cliffs: it’s a one mile rim + one mile gorge trail with several ways you can make it shorter, but I highly recommend the whole thing. It’s rated difficult for the steep terrain and steps, but still kid-friendly IMO. It also feels a little less traveled than some of the more popular hikes and all the little waterfalls along the trail are worth discovering.Trailhead: 13640 OH-374, Rockbridge, OH@myhockinghills #hockinghills #hockinghillsstatepark #hikingwithkids #ohiohiking #hikingtrail

I love breakfast casseroles, especially for holiday brunches or when we have overnight guests. This breakfast casserole with sausage, spinach and sweet potato is the perfect thing for this coming Easter weekend. Or any occasion throughout the year, really.

Unlike other breakfast casseroles, this one uses sweet potatoes instead of hashbrowns or diced potato. It also doesn’t use any bread, so it’s the perfect gluten-free breakfast casserole to serve too! It’s packed with protein from the sausage, eggs and cheeses and the colorful veggies add delicious flavor.

Savory breakfast casserole recipe

One thing I love about this breakfast casserole is that you can switch it up every time. Swap the sausage for bacon or shredded chicken, substitute/add other vegetables, or mix it up by adding Swiss or Gruyère cheeses.

Breakfast casserole with sausage, spinach and sweet potato

1 pound sausage

1 red pepper, diced

1 medium onion, diced

2 sweet potatoes, diced

3-4 cups of spinach

1.5 cups small curd cottage cheese

3 cups shredded cheddar cheese

9 eggs, lightly beaten

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large pan on medium heat, cook the sausage, red pepper, onion and sweet potatoes until the sausage is cooked through and vegetables are tender.

2. Add in a generous amount of spinach. Stir together until the leaves are wilted. You may have to add the spinach in batches so it’s easier to stir.

3. Place sausage and vegetables into a greased 9×13 baking dish.

4. Combine the cottage cheese and shredded cheddar in a bowl, then mix together with the other ingredients in the baking dish.

5. Lightly beat 9 eggs. Pour over breakfast casserole and gently mix to combine.

6. Bake the breakfast casserole in preheated over for 45-50 minutes or until the eggs are set. A knife inserted into the center will come out clean. If the breakfast casserole gets too brown on top, you can loosely cover it with aluminum foil.

7. Let the breakfast casserole cool for 10 minutes before serving.
