I’m convinced this is the best screen free activ I’m convinced this is the best screen free activity you could ever do with your family. My kids love watching the birds out at our bird feeder, so we added a second one to the backyard. Bird feeding is an incredible low cost hobby that teaches about birds and nature, how to care for animals, and honestly is bringing so much joy to our day.Check out @projectwildbird to learn more about all the bird feeding basics and where to find your local birding stores. Also, with Mother’s and Father’s Day coming up they have a great spring gift guide up on their website!@wildbirdfeedinst #ProjectWildbird #WBFI #BirdFeeding #BackyardBirds
Just a gentle reminder: while big, elaborate gathe Just a gentle reminder: while big, elaborate gatherings, brunches and gifts can be nice on Mother’s Day, it’s also just a day on the calendar. Celebrating on a different day doesn’t take away from honoring you as a mom. Sharing the holiday with a mom or a mother in law or other family doesn’t make it less. If making plans for this weekend is stressing you out, it’s totally okay to do something lowkey instead. And if we’re really being honest here, moms deserve to be honored and celebrated more than just one day of the year. The “just because” flowers are always way more special than any big Mother’s Day bouquet IMO.
This is the BEST low effort, timesaving mealtime s This is the BEST low effort, timesaving mealtime solution I’ve found in a long time. @delrealfoods is made with real ingredients and authentic flavors and tastes like everything has been slow cooked all day and made in small batches. And the reality? Dinner’s on the table in just FIVE minutes. There’s really no easier way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and Taco Tuesday.Find @delrealfoods at Costco, Walmart and other grocery stores near you.
Might be my favorite Hocking Hills hike we’ve do Might be my favorite Hocking Hills hike we’ve done yet. Cantwell Cliffs: it’s a one mile rim + one mile gorge trail with several ways you can make it shorter, but I highly recommend the whole thing. It’s rated difficult for the steep terrain and steps, but still kid-friendly IMO. It also feels a little less traveled than some of the more popular hikes and all the little waterfalls along the trail are worth discovering.Trailhead: 13640 OH-374, Rockbridge, OH@myhockinghills #hockinghills #hockinghillsstatepark #hikingwithkids #ohiohiking #hikingtrail

I was a little worried I wouldn’t get to use thi I was a little worried I wouldn’t get to use this baby carrier cover this spring because of how nice it’s been, but never fear because we’re in for some more chilly days. And as much as I dislike watching baseball in the cold, I’m really savoring these last little bits of babywearing 🥹 Carrier is my FAVE from @hopeandplum, like I’ve owned a zillion carriers over the years and this one is the best for so many reasons. Cover is made by my MIL with a pattern from @mossbagbaby, but you can buy the covers from them too.#babywear #babywearing #babywearingmama #babycarrier #hopeandplum

Where do you feel safe? The most secure? Have you ever had to worry about whether you’d go to bed with your stomach growling of hunger? Or whether you’d even have a bed to sleep in at all? Every year, approximately 1,200 families and 3,000 children experience homelessness in Columbus.

Even one is too many.

Every child and their family deserves stability, food on the table and a roof over their heads. Homeless Families Foundation is an organization that educates and supports kids while empowering their families to provide a self-sufficient and stable home. They continually work with families who are living in poverty or are in crisis and serve nearly 300 families and 800 children annually.

As a mama myself, I know that there is a huge need for what HFF does for our community. I’m so excited tell you about an event called Hope Takes Flight coming up later this month, which is HFF’s annual fundraiser. During the event, you’ll be treated to an evening of music, dancing, gourmet food by Cameron Mitchell, craft beer (unless you’re preggo like me, of course!), and a silent auction. This year’s event is themed “2019 Suitcase Party”, which will have someone walking away (flying away, actually) with a dream weekend trip for two to Nashville via a private NetJets jet!

Funds raised from the Hope Takes Flight event goes to support the programs provided by The Homeless Families Foundation. These programs serve homeless and at risk children and their families throughout Columbus and include things like educational services, housing assistance, meals during after school and summer programs, and other supportive services.

Jamie and I plan to be there, both to enjoy a kid-free night out and also to help support a great cause. We’d love to have you join us! You can read more about the event here, but I’ve also included some information below:

Event details

When: Friday, September 27, 2019 from 6:30-11 p.m.
Where: Signature Flight Support, 4130 E. 5th Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43219
What to wear: Cocktail attire
Parking: There will be complimentary valet provided at Signature Flight Support
About the event: Presented by Nationwide Insurance and hosted by Signature Flight Support, this one-of-a-kind suitcase party will be a luxurious evening full of great music from The Conspiracy Band, gourmet food by Cameron Mitchell, craft beer, a 5-star silent auction, and a raffle drawing (followed by a live auction for another chance to win) for a weekend trip for two to Nashville courtesy of NetJets. The silent auction opens at 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 26 and closes at 10:15 p.m. that Friday night. All auction items can be found here and you can bid anytime from anywhere, even if you’re not attending the event.

Tickets can be purchased here. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased prior to or during the event, but you MUST be present to win AND come with your bag packed and ready to go since the winner will leave right away that evening. Tickets are also available to purchase at the door, but include a price increase, so I recommend buying ahead of time.

Are you planning to attend? Let me know if you are – I’d love to meet up with you to say hi!
