One of my favorite things to do in New York City a One of my favorite things to do in New York City and it only costs $6! But seriously, the @theseaglasscarousel in Battery Park is a downtown Manhattan staple and one that not everyone knows about. Definitely add this to your NYC itinerary.
Have you heard about the rooftop lounge in Powell Have you heard about the rooftop lounge in Powell everyone keeps talking about? We had date night at the new @lanirooftop the other night (our second time there) and it did not disappoint. My only regret is that we didn’t also order the Caesar salad because it’s my favorite, but we absolutely did not have room to order anything else. The Harissa Roast Cauliflower was our favorite this time, but there was not a bad bite to be found. And if you’re looking for a NA beverage, they have a great list of refreshers or you can ask the bartender to make you something off menu. Speaking of the bartenders, they’re fantastic and I highly recommend sitting at the bar if you want a different vibe or it’s not patio weather outside. Save this one for your next Columbus night out! @visitdelohio @visit_powell @experiencecolumbus #columbusohio #cbusfoodscene #cbusfoodbloggers #lanirooftop #delawareohio
Gates open an hour and a half early? Great - we’ Gates open an hour and a half early? Great - we’ll be there an hour before that. All of our favorite reasons why you should get to an MLB game early. Are you getting in line early too or do you slip in after the first pitch? #baseball #mlb #nymets #letsgomets #newyorkcity
Finally got around to checking out @hulihulidownto Finally got around to checking out @hulihulidowntown’s new location in Columbus. It’s much smaller than their Powell location, but the same vibes and great food and drinks are there. Also there’s free parking after 5:30!I ordered the Aloha Aina and their tiki fries (the tiki fries are a must order every time)#columbus #columbusrestaurants #cbusfoodscene #cbusfoodbloggers #columbusohio @experiencecolumbus

Need an easy back-to-school meal prep hack? #ad Th Need an easy back-to-school meal prep hack? #ad These @idahoanfoods mashed potato cups are the perfect thing. Prep all your toppings ahead of time, then when you’re in need of a quick dinner, let the kids choose their favorite mashed potato flavor and top to their hearts’ desire. Our current obsession is adding chicken nuggets, black beans, corn, shredded cheddar and bbq sauce for a little southwestern loaded potato bowl. But the possibilities are endless and with everyone building their own, they can make it exactly how they want it. These Idahoan mashed potato cups are incredibly convenient and are ready to eat in just minutes. Stock up at your local grocery store! #idahoanfoods #idahoan #easydinnerideas #mealprep
This trip felt incredibly important. My grandmothe This trip felt incredibly important. My grandmother turned 104 this past weekend, her sister turning 100 not too long ago, and the loss of their brother and sister-in-law (both over 100) earlier this year. I hope we have them both for years to come, but I’m also so grateful that my kids have had the chance to build memories with them. It’s easy to think there will always be another visit, but this weekend was a reminder to soak up every moment you can and to always, always be willing to listen to that one story for the millionth time because they love sharing it.
How is it that just two years ago we were sitting How is it that just two years ago we were sitting at one of our favorite places telling the kids our family was about to grow by one more, and then this weekend that same little girl was sitting at the table stealing bites of everyone’s cake and ice cream? Time is a thief. #motherhood #motherhoodthroughinstagram #momoffour #timeflies #newyorkcity

Fashion Firsts with Milestone | Baby Essentials

This post is sponsored by Milestone. As always, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own.

As a photographer, I’ve gotten pretty good at documenting my boys with my camera on a regular basis. But what I’m not as great at is remembering to capture those super special moments. You know the ones – like the first real smile or the first time they sleep through the night. All big deals, but hard to remember the specifics as your baby grows. While I probably have photographed most of them over the years, I can’t really tell you which images are those exact moments. This is one of the things I love about Milestone. They totally understand the importance of preserving special moments so that you can remember them for years and years.

Milestone makes these photo cards that allow you to document all your baby’s “firsts”. That’s why I’m so excited about their new Special Moments Booklets. These packs are extras to their regular sets (which are pretty inclusive to most firsts you’ll encounter). They’re designed especially for celebrations and adventures that are most important to your family. Like the Outdoor Moments booklet is great if you plan to spend a lot of time outdoors with your baby. I wish we had their new Travel Moments booklet a few weeks ago – we took Caleb to visit my family in NYC for the first time and we did three of the “firsts” in this booklet. While I have photos of our trip, it would have been great to capture some of those firsts with the photo cards.

There are eight new booklets in this collection. Each one has a series of six different photo cards you can tear out and photograph with your baby. There’s also a spot on the bottom of each card where you can write in the date. I feel like this is the equivalent of all my childhood photos where my mom would write the date on the back of a photo. Since we live in such a digital world, this is a great way to remember when things happened. And if you do print out photos for a book (which I highly recommend), these cards can easily be slipped into a photo album alongside your photo. Or placed inside of a memory box of keepsakes.

In addition to the travel and outdoor booklets, there are also booklets for first holidays, celebrations, Christmas, foodie moments, first birthday and fashion moments. You can find all of them here.

Speaking of fashion, though, you know that I can’t help but love this set. I’m all about kids fashion, especially when it comes to baby things. And fall is my favorite season. Now that it finally feels like fall around here, we can delve into some fall fashion with some of our favorite brands. Caleb not only wore this particular outfit to his first pumpkin patch and fall festival, but it’s also the day we discovered his first tooth!
