My kids love watching the birds out at our bird feeder, so we added a second one to the backyard. Bird feeding is an incredible low cost hobby that teaches about birds and nature, how to care for animals, and honestly is bringing so much joy to our day.Check out @projectwildbird to learn more about all the bird feeding basics and where to find your local birding stores. Also, with Mother’s and Father’s Day coming up they have a great spring gift guide up on their website!@wildbirdfeedinst #ProjectWildbird #WBFI #BirdFeeding #BackyardBirds
Just a gentle reminder: while big, elaborate gathe Just a gentle reminder: while big, elaborate gatherings, brunches and gifts can be nice on Mother’s Day, it’s also just a day on the calendar. Celebrating on a different day doesn’t take away from honoring you as a mom. Sharing the holiday with a mom or a mother in law or other family doesn’t make it less. If making plans for this weekend is stressing you out, it’s totally okay to do something lowkey instead. And if we’re really being honest here, moms deserve to be honored and celebrated more than just one day of the year. The “just because” flowers are always way more special than any big Mother’s Day bouquet IMO.

Cantwell Cliffs: it’s a one mile rim + one mile gorge trail with several ways you can make it shorter, but I highly recommend the whole thing. It’s rated difficult for the steep terrain and steps, but still kid-friendly IMO. It also feels a little less traveled than some of the more popular hikes and all the little waterfalls along the trail are worth discovering.Trailhead: 13640 OH-374, Rockbridge, OH@myhockinghills #hockinghills #hockinghillsstatepark #hikingwithkids #ohiohiking #hikingtrail

Just in time for Mother’s Day: stylish watches from JORD

April 6, 2018      for the mamas, giveaways      3 Comments

I’m busy working on a Mother’s Day Gift Guide for you all, which I’ll be releasing sometime in the next couple of weeks. Whenever Jamie asks me what I want for Mother’s Day (or any type of gift-giving occasion), I have a hard time thinking of things in the moment. So I really want to give you a great resource for Mother’s Day shopping, whether you’re buying something for your own mom, yourself, or dropping hints to the hubs.

But while you wait for the gift guide, I want to tell you about the wood watch I recently received from JORD. If you remember, Jamie got one a year or so ago and he loves it. So much so that I’ve been thinking about getting one for myself ever since. I’m so thrilled I now have one of my own – it saves me from snagging Jamie’s every now and then.

Jord wood watches are a great Mothers Day gift idea | Wear Love WandersI received this watch from JORD for free in exchange for this review. All opinions are completely my own.

I’m wearing the Frankie watch in zebrawood and champagne. Honestly, I debated on size for quite a while. JORD has several different styles and wood options to choose from. I typically go with smaller, thinner watches. But since I’ve tried on Jamie’s before and liked the idea of a larger watch, I thought I would live on the edge a little. I’m definitely not disappointed.

The champagne color on the watch face will go with just about anything. I’ve already worn it out to date night, so it can easily be paired with a dressier outfit. However, it’s so well made that I can wear it hanging around the house with Liam and Caleb. Caleb has even tried pulling on it a few times and it seems to hold up really well to little fingers. I think what also helps is that JORD can custom fit your watch before they ship it to you. My watch has fit perfectly since day one. This way, there’s not really any extra watch band for Caleb to pull on.

I didn’t know this when Jamie got his watch, but JORD has an engraving service as well. This is pretty cool. You can personalize the wood watch or the cedar watch box to make your gift extra special.

JORD has both men’s and women’s wood watches (click on the links to see all the options), as well as Apple watch bands. Sustainability and ethically-sourced materials are two things that are important to me when choosing items to purchase. I love that you can see on the JORD website where the materials for your watch were sourced from. The watches are even more beautiful in person. They’re hand-crafted, so unique, and really meld a modern style with a simple, beautifully-made watch. You’re definitely going to want to check them out.

Now for the GIVEAWAY! I’m so excited to tell you that I’ve teamed up with JORD watches to give one winner a $100 e-gift code to put towards the watch of his or her choice! And if you’re not generally super lucky (like me, because I rarely win anything), you’ll still want to enter. ALL entrants will get a 10% off e-gift code automatically e-mailed to you just for entering. This is perfect if you’ve been wanting to get a JORD watch for yourself or as a gift for Mother’s Day (or Father’s Day, if you’re really planning ahead). Entering is super easy – just click on the link here! The contest ends April 29th.
