Overnight diapers aren’t just for nighttime. As Overnight diapers aren’t just for nighttime. As a mom of four, they’re also one of my favorite mom hacks for taking little ones on the go. @huggies Overnites have up to 100% leak free and nighttime protection and are extra absorbent for uninterrupted sleep and comfort. All the naps in the car, stroller and carrier? Those are vital for surviving a long day out of the house with a baby and big siblings. And Walmart just launched a new pack size for about $20 making them even easier to add to your nighttime and on the go routine.#huggies #huggiesovernites

Costco snack challenge - think I can make it in an Costco snack challenge - think I can make it in and out and only buy @snackjacksons sweet potato chips? #sponsoredJackson’s Chip are my family’s favorite snack - they’re made only with avocado oil (no seed oils, ever), kettle cooked for the most amazing crunch, and the sea salt flavor only has three ingredients. Also, as a food allergy family, we love that Jackson’s is top 9 allergen free, so these are perfect for school, camp and sharing with friends. Such a great variety of sushi, stir fry, dim sum, fruit, hibachi and pho, plus a rotating menu of kid-friendly favorites like mac and cheese, French fries and chicken nuggets. My picky eaters and more adventurous eaters can all find something they love to eat. Pricing for kids is based on height - kids under 36” are free and kids 36-55” are half price. We went for lunch, which was $16.99 and absolutely a great deal. Especially if you’re like us and feeding a family of six. Pricing for dinner and weekends is more, but you also get more seafood options and it’s still a really good price for the selection. 📍 2620 Bethel Rd, Columbus#columbus #columbusohio #cbusfoodscene #cbusfoodbloggers #cbusfoodie

We had the BEST day at the @childrensmuseum and I’m still surprised we packed so much in. The Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience was hands down our favorite. It’s 7.5 acres of outdoor experiences where kids can try out so many different sports in “my-sized” equipment. There’s basketball, baseball, tennis, soccer, football, track and field, and so much more. There’s even a pedal car racetrack and a giant sports-themed tree house to play in. Tiana’s Joyful Celebration was another favorite. The whole exhibit is themed for Mardi Gras season in 1928 New Orleans and it’s all so colorful and festive. You also can’t miss their antique carousel, revisiting nostalgic American pop culture, giant dinosaurs, immersing yourself in Peruvian culture, and their Playscape for the littlest museum visitors. My best advice is that if you only have one day, go early and fit in as much as you can. But if you’ve got two days to spend at the museum, you can definitely pace it better and revisit some of your favorite activities from the first day! Indianapolis is only a few hours from Columbus, making the Children’s Museum the perfect extended day trip or excuse for a weekend getaway. Nuby Comfort 360 Plus+ Bottles | Product Review

Bottle-feeding your baby should be a no-brainer, right? Step 1: buy a bottle. Step 2: fill bottle will breastmilk or formula. Step 3: feed bottle to baby. If only it were that simple. Before Liam was born, I actually returned most of the bottle-feeding items we received as gifts. I was convinced that I didn’t need tons of bottles laying around, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. It took us a long time to find a bottle that worked the way we needed it to. With Caleb, I had concerns about whether a different baby would have different bottle preferences or similar feeding issues we had with Liam. I was thrilled when Nuby reached out to see if they could send me their Nuby Comfort 360 Plus+ Silicone Anti-Reflux and Anti-Colic Bottle. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway at the bottom of this post if you’d like the opportunity to win a pair of bottles to try out yourself!

If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you may remember some of the details about my exclusive pumping journey with Liam. You can also read about it here. So while I never intended to use bottles to feed him, they became a necessary part of our story. And finding the right bottle to use was harder than we thought. His dairy sensitivity along with his tongue tie and upper lip tie caused him to have pretty severe reflux and colic. If we didn’t burp him every half an ounce, he would spit up the entire contents of his bottle after his feeding. The first several months of Liam’s life were pretty traumatic for our family when it came to feeding him. It’s not something I’d like to go through again.

So you can see why, since adding Caleb to our family, that choosing the right bottle is super important to us. Enter the Nuby Comfort 360 Plus+ bottle. It’s definitely been an adjustment because it is completely different than the bottles we ended up using with Liam. Or any of the bottles we tried before that. It’s obviously a lot bigger than the little formula bottles they give you at the hospital. And the nipple shape is larger and different than some of the straight-shaped nipples on the market. I would definitely describe it as more breast-like than the typical bottle.

Overall, I really like it. Like I said, it’s different than other bottles we’ve used in the past, so it’s taken some getting used to. Caleb also had a tongue tie, which we got revised recently. This has helped him get a better latch and become more efficient at feeding. Luckily, Caleb doesn’t seem to mind what kind of bottle we use as long as it has milk in it. But since I’ve had the experience of both trying to nurse and bottle feeding, I can definitely see this bottle’s physical high points. It’s performance, however, is where this bottle truly stands out.
nuby-comfort-360-bottle-review-9

The Nuby Comfort 360 Plus+ is a great choice for babies who suffer from reflux, GERD and colic. The Mayo Clinic and other leading baby resources recommend that babies be fed upright to reduce the effects of these issues. While you can feed upright using any bottle, it’s hard to figure out the correct positioning so that baby is upright but milk is able to get into the bottle nipple.
nuby-comfort-360-bottle-review-4

What really sets the Nuby bottle apart is that it has a weighted straw that follows the milk. This way, you can feed in any position that is most comfortable for you and your baby. The bottle also has anti-colic valves to prevent the baby from swallowing extra air. If your baby doesn’t seem to have any issues with reflux or colic, or if they’re old enough to have outgrown the symptoms, the straw is easily removable.
nuby-comfort-360-bottle-review-12

I also like that the bottle has a squeezable base to help with latch on and feeding. This is particularly helpful with newer or extra sleepy babies. Being able to squeeze out a teeny bit of milk onto their lips can help encourage finishing the feeding before falling asleep. I think it also helps with getting out the last little bit of milk from the bottle too.

Breastfeeding Caleb was not the right choice for our family this time around (although breastfeeding your adopted baby is such an incredible option). But if I were, this bottle is perfect for babies who are feeding both from a bottle and nursing. It has a breast-like shaped nipple. This allows the baby to maintain a similar latch to when he’s feeding at the breast. The softness of the nipple is also supposed to mimic the feel of mom’s skin when nursing. If we have another biological baby in the future, we will definitely be using these bottles in conjunction with nursing.
nuby-comfort-360-bottle-review-14

Another thing I love about the bottles is that the straw connects right into the nipple. Since there are minimal parts, it’s less likely for the bottle to leak. Whoever said that milk was not worth crying over clearly knew nothing about breast milk. There’s also a droplet-shaped mark on the cover and the base of the bottle. Matching these up allows you to visually tell that the top is on correctly. This not only ensures great performance but it also is another measure against leaking. And at 3 a.m., I need all the visual help I can get.
nuby-comfort-360-bottle-review-5

The bottles are also BPA-free and super easy to clean. I just toss the parts into the dishwasher (top rack). The straw can go in one of those dishwasher baskets. Easy peasy.

And I’m putting another photo here, because he’s just so cute! This is the first time I’ve posted photos of him on the blog. I can’t wait to share more with you! But you can also check out our Instagram feed for your daily baby fix. nuby-comfort-360-bottle-review-7
