Overnight diapers aren’t just for nighttime. As Overnight diapers aren’t just for nighttime. As a mom of four, they’re also one of my favorite mom hacks for taking little ones on the go. @huggies Overnites have up to 100% leak free and nighttime protection and are extra absorbent for uninterrupted sleep and comfort. All the naps in the car, stroller and carrier? Those are vital for surviving a long day out of the house with a baby and big siblings. And Walmart just launched a new pack size for about $20 making them even easier to add to your nighttime and on the go routine.#huggies #huggiesovernites

Costco snack challenge - think I can make it in an Costco snack challenge - think I can make it in and out and only buy @snackjacksons sweet potato chips? #sponsoredJackson’s Chip are my family’s favorite snack - they’re made only with avocado oil (no seed oils, ever), kettle cooked for the most amazing crunch, and the sea salt flavor only has three ingredients. Also, as a food allergy family, we love that Jackson’s is top 9 allergen free, so these are perfect for school, camp and sharing with friends. You can now find Jackson’s sea salt sweet potato chips at Costco Midwest 🙌🏻
If you’re looking for a family-friendly all-you- If you’re looking for a family-friendly all-you-can-eat buffet in Columbus, @thefeastbuffet has it all. Such a great variety of sushi, stir fry, dim sum, fruit, hibachi and pho, plus a rotating menu of kid-friendly favorites like mac and cheese, French fries and chicken nuggets. My picky eaters and more adventurous eaters can all find something they love to eat. Pricing for kids is based on height - kids under 36” are free and kids 36-55” are half price. We went for lunch, which was $16.99 and absolutely a great deal. Especially if you’re like us and feeding a family of six. Pricing for dinner and weekends is more, but you also get more seafood options and it’s still a really good price for the selection. 📍 2620 Bethel Rd, Columbus#columbus #columbusohio #cbusfoodscene #cbusfoodbloggers #cbusfoodie

We had the BEST day at the @childrensmuseum and I’m still surprised we packed so much in. The Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience was hands down our favorite. It’s 7.5 acres of outdoor experiences where kids can try out so many different sports in “my-sized” equipment. There’s basketball, baseball, tennis, soccer, football, track and field, and so much more. There’s even a pedal car racetrack and a giant sports-themed tree house to play in. Tiana’s Joyful Celebration was another favorite. The whole exhibit is themed for Mardi Gras season in 1928 New Orleans and it’s all so colorful and festive. You also can’t miss their antique carousel, revisiting nostalgic American pop culture, giant dinosaurs, immersing yourself in Peruvian culture, and their Playscape for the littlest museum visitors. My best advice is that if you only have one day, go early and fit in as much as you can. But if you’ve got two days to spend at the museum, you can definitely pace it better and revisit some of your favorite activities from the first day! Indianapolis is only a few hours from Columbus, making the Children’s Museum the perfect extended day trip or excuse for a weekend getaway. Looking for things to do with your kids this summe Looking for things to do with your kids this summer? Don’t miss out on everything happening at @columbusmuseum! Also check out the creativity corner full of books related to Asian American diaspora and art history. This exhibit runs through August 16. See what’s new on the Center for Creativity (one of my kids’ favorite spaces in the museum) - current galleries are Shapes and Cats Create during an Open Studio - these are Saturdays from 10am-1pm, with a quiet hour at the beginning of each session. Each month has a different theme and open to all ages. Check out a Summer Art Break - these are opportunities for hands-on creating during the week. Hours are 10am-1pm with the first being a quiet hour. June 16-19, June 30-July 3, July 14-17, July 28-31, and August 11-14. Stop by the Wonder Room for an immersive gallery experience. Kick off your weekend early with BAM Thursdays - enjoy drinks (and food), art and music out in the sculpture garden every Thursday through September 10 from 5-10pm. There’s also free admission and extended hours to the museum. We went to last week’s and enjoyed the DJ and all the lawn games, plus the sriracha honey cheese curds get a 10/10 from my crew. It’s the perfect way to spend your Thursday evening! * Starting July 1, visitors ages 25 and under, as well as one adult caregiver accompanying children 16 and under, will receive free admission to CMA! What activities are you planning to do at the Columbus Museum of Art this summer?
I love a good opportunity to recreate an old image I love a good opportunity to recreate an old image and the space under the Fireworks of Glass Chihuly sculpture at @childrensmuseum might be my favorite spot. Stop down there in the afternoon after the crowds have thinned out and it’s the perfect spot to take a break, enjoy the view and capture a memory from your day.1st image is from our recent trip to @visitindy with kids 2-4. 2nd image is from April 2017 with our oldest.

toddlershoes_seekairun_2Let’s talk about one of my favorite topics….shoes! My closet used to be full of the cutest pairs of heels. Used to, because when I was pregnant, my feet grew half a size and most of them no longer fit. But it doesn’t matter; I’ve found a new obsession. I’m trading in my heels for the cutest pairs of size 6 high tops. Toddler size 6. 😉 The ones pictured above are our new favorite pair from See Kai Run. There’s a giveaway, too, so make sure you read all the way to the bottom of my review!

Prior to becoming a mom, I didn’t realize that there’s actually more to buying kid’s shoes than how they look. As it turns out, choosing the right shoe for your little is extremely important for proper foot development. For instance, a shoe with a hard sole limits foot movement and hinders the strengthening of foot muscles as your little is learning to walk and run. Even as our kids grow from no longer being babies to becoming children, they need shoes designed specifically for their growing feet.

SeeKaiRunReview_3That’s why I was so excited to try out some new pairs of shoes from See Kai Run. The company was created by a mom who couldn’t find the kind of shoes she wanted for her son – ones that looked great but also were functional for a growing kid.

The verdict: Love. Liam currently has two pairs of high tops (the “Dane” style in both red plaid and gray). The red plaid is our clear favorite, but mostly because it’s almost fall and I’m a sucker for anything in buffalo print. But See Kai Run has so many different kinds to choose from: crib shoes for tiny babes, sandals, boots, sneakers, dressy shoes, etc.

One of my favorite things about our shoes from See Kai Run is that they all have velcro closures. The high tops are still a little difficult for Liam to put on by himself, because this shoe style is just hater to slip your feet right on in, but that shouldn’t be an issue with other styles that don’t come up as high. Once he learns how to get his feet in them himself, he’ll be putting his own shoes on in no time. He can take the shoes off himself, though, and I feel like I get bonus points every time he remembers to put them back by the front door instead of dropping them in the middle of the kitchen floor. 😉 Even still, they’re much easier for me to get on him than some of his other brands of shoes, which makes them a great choice for moms on the run (like we are all the time).

If you haven’t realized it yet, I’m generally more willing to spend my money shopping at companies that give back. Knowing that my dollars go further and impacts someone else’s life is always a win, in my opinion. In 2014, See Kai Run teamed up with Peach’s Neet Feet (PNF), an organization that provides customized, hand-painted shoes to children with disabilities or living with serious illnesses. While See Kai Run has been working with PNF for a couple of years by providing shoes as part of their program, they are also now donating 10% of proceeds from select styles to PNF’s “Hustle Kindness” movement. When you shop See Kai Run’s website, the Hustle Kindness logo indicates which shoes are included.

Price-wise, See Kai Run shoes aren’t cheap, but they’re well worth the cost. Normal pricing ranges from $40-65, depending on the style of shoe you want to get. J hesitates to spend that much money on buying shoes even for himself. But one thing I’ve learned from having a toddler is that although they grow fast and may not wear the same size shoe for a year or longer, like we do as adults, they wear them hard. Liam can run a mile around our neighborhood and jumps off of anything more than a couple inches off the ground. He loves being outdoors in the dirt and in any kind of weather. So he needs a pair of shoes that can keep up with him and that are designed for active, growing feet. I remember buying a pair of shoes from a different brand last summer (in a similar price range) and being so disappointed when the velcro separated from the hook and loop tab only a couple months later. The shoes from See Kai Run are extremely well made and seem like they’ll hold up for a really long time. You can tell just by looking at them that they’re crafted well. But I also get that no matter how awesome shoes may be, sometimes price is the deciding factor. See Kai Run has several styles listed at a great price in their clearance section. You can also follow them on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to learn about sales and giveaways.

You can shop all the awesome styles for your baby, toddler or kiddo on the See Kai Run WEBSITE. Make sure you follow See Kai Run on INSTAGRAM too so you can see photos of all their shoes in action.
