Overnight diapers aren’t just for nighttime. As Overnight diapers aren’t just for nighttime. As a mom of four, they’re also one of my favorite mom hacks for taking little ones on the go. @huggies Overnites have up to 100% leak free and nighttime protection and are extra absorbent for uninterrupted sleep and comfort. All the naps in the car, stroller and carrier? Those are vital for surviving a long day out of the house with a baby and big siblings. And Walmart just launched a new pack size for about $20 making them even easier to add to your nighttime and on the go routine.#huggies #huggiesovernites

Costco snack challenge - think I can make it in an Costco snack challenge - think I can make it in and out and only buy @snackjacksons sweet potato chips? #sponsoredJackson’s Chip are my family’s favorite snack - they’re made only with avocado oil (no seed oils, ever), kettle cooked for the most amazing crunch, and the sea salt flavor only has three ingredients. Also, as a food allergy family, we love that Jackson’s is top 9 allergen free, so these are perfect for school, camp and sharing with friends. My picky eaters and more adventurous eaters can all find something they love to eat. Pricing for kids is based on height - kids under 36” are free and kids 36-55” are half price. We went for lunch, which was $16.99 and absolutely a great deal. Especially if you’re like us and feeding a family of six. Pricing for dinner and weekends is more, but you also get more seafood options and it’s still a really good price for the selection. 📍 2620 Bethel Rd, Columbus#columbus #columbusohio #cbusfoodscene #cbusfoodbloggers #cbusfoodie

We had the BEST day at the @childrensmuseum and I’m still surprised we packed so much in. The Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience was hands down our favorite. It’s 7.5 acres of outdoor experiences where kids can try out so many different sports in “my-sized” equipment. There’s basketball, baseball, tennis, soccer, football, track and field, and so much more. There’s even a pedal car racetrack and a giant sports-themed tree house to play in. Tiana’s Joyful Celebration was another favorite. The whole exhibit is themed for Mardi Gras season in 1928 New Orleans and it’s all so colorful and festive. You also can’t miss their antique carousel, revisiting nostalgic American pop culture, giant dinosaurs, immersing yourself in Peruvian culture, and their Playscape for the littlest museum visitors. My best advice is that if you only have one day, go early and fit in as much as you can. But if you’ve got two days to spend at the museum, you can definitely pace it better and revisit some of your favorite activities from the first day! Indianapolis is only a few hours from Columbus, making the Children’s Museum the perfect extended day trip or excuse for a weekend getaway. Staying hydrated this summer with Nuby + Giveaway

July 28, 2017      giveaways, reviews      16 Comments

This summer is HOT.  I’m always taken aback a little by the oppressive heat and humidity that hits during the day. When Liam was younger, we would head out for a couple hours in the morning and then hunker down in the house for the afternoon. Now that he’s older and more active, it’s much harder to do. He loves being outside and the heat doesn’t seem to slow him down a bit. Typical toddler, right? He wants to be on the go so much in the summer that it’s so important to make sure his little body is staying hydrated. Keeping kids hydrated in this summer heat is important to Nuby too, which is why they sent us a few water cups to try out and review. There’s a giveaway at the bottom of this post too, if you’d like to win one to try for yourself!

Nuby Reflex Water Canteen

This water canteen is our favorite of the three cups in this post. It’s also the one that’s part of the giveaway.
nuby-360-cup-review-26

It’s a 12oz bottle, which is a great size for when you’re out and about, but not so large that it’s hard to carry around. But it’s not so small that you have to keep refilling it all the time. I also love that it’s a taller, skinnier bottle compared to some others. This way, it fits easily into cup holders and strollers.
nuby-cup-review-2

The bottle is made from BPA-free durable triton plastic to protect it from breaking if it gets dropped. And as long as the cover is closed, it shouldn’t spill if it gets knocked over. Speaking of the cover, the button is easy for Liam to press himself. This is nice, because then he’s able to get water (and close it up) whenever he wants.

I also love the silicone grip around the middle of the bottle. It makes it easier for Liam to grab and hold. And he doesn’t seem to drop this cup as much as he does others that don’t have this feature. The handle is great too, because it’s easy for Liam to carry when we’re out and about.
nuby-cup-review-1

My only issue with this water cup is that the design starts to chip off after lots of use. Which is probably fairly standard for any kind of bottle with a print on it like this. And we’ve certainly used it quite a bit already this summer. But that’s a small issue in comparison to how much we love and use it.

This water canteen is available at Wal-mart and Babies R’ Us.

Nuby 360° Wonder Cup with 3D Grip
nuby-360-cup-review-21

This cup and the next were our first introduction into a 360° cup. So it felt kind of weird trying to figure out how to drink from it. But it’s also pretty cool too. What makes it 360° is that you can drink from it no matter where on the top you’re drinking from. Isn’t that so cool?

The 10oz cup has a no-spill silicone valve that is activated by pressure. So your child can control the flow rate that the water comes out. And then the valve seals automatically once you child is done drinking.  This is great because then you don’t have the issue of extra water coming out and dribbling down their chin and such. Or spilling out onto the floor.
nuby-360-cup-review-13

Now, I should note, though, that this cup is not drop proof or throw proof when it comes to water coming out. Which, when you have a toddler, both are definite possibilities. The force from the drop or throw can have the same affect as if you were drinking from the cup. So water will come out of the cup. But that will only happen when the cup lands. So water will not continue to spill out of the cup, if that makes sense. I only note this because Liam was throwing his cup around and got water on the floor. And then my husband was complaining that the no-spill feature didn’t work. It does work, but you can’t expect the floor to stay dry when you’ve tossed the cup across the room. Toddlers, man, I tell you.

The 3D version of this cup is so fun. Not only are the designs colorful and attractive, but the raised portions give the cup a nice added texture. Not to mention that this helps littles keep a good grip on the cup too.

This cup is coming soon to Babies R’ Us.

Nuby Insulated 360° Wonder Cup
nuby-360-cup-review-11

Like the 3D cup, this 9oz insulated 360° Wonder Cup can be sipped from any side of the rim. It has a no-spill silicone insert that prevents spilling. There’s also the touch-foo feature, which allows the child to control the flow of the liquid when he or she drinks. Once the child is done sipping, the silicon rim seals, helping it to avoid leaking.
nuby-cup-review-8

What I really like about this cup is that it has an insulated base that keeps drinks cool for up to 6 hours. Liam is often more likely to drink water if it’s cold (bonus if it has ice that hasn’t melted yet). With the insulated base on this cup, I can keep his water colder for longer.
nuby-cup-review-7

This cup is one of our favorites for when we’re going to be in the hot car and running errands all day long.

You can purchase this cup online on Amazon or at Babies R’ Us and Target.

Want to stay hydrated with Nuby this summer too? I’ve partnered with Nuby to give away a 12oz Reflex Water Canteen to one lucking winner. Head over to the giveaway image on my Instagram page at @LITTLEFIREBRIGADE and follow the steps to enter. Leave a comment here on the blog for an additional entry (don’t forget to leave your Instagram name!) and tell me what your favorite summer activity is.

I LOVE the 3D cup but the canteen is pretty awesome, especially with the handle! Just perfect for my 9 month old who’s learning the cup thing! I’m following IG @patead24 🙂

My favorite summertime activity is napping indoors in the cool AC 😂 I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant, so unfortunately I don’t get out too often right now in this FL heat. Swimming is the only thing that saves me!! So I enjoy going for a dip when it’s later in the evening 😎💦
Would loveee to win this! My first little one is expected this Oct! Would definitely come in handy! And I have a ton of mommy friends that I’m sure would love to know how this works too! Xoxo
